I am not a certified teacher, nor am I knowledgeable in curriculums and teaching methods. I am just a mother of two little ones, and I find that everyday presents another day to teach and instruct.
But teaching subjects like reading, writing, and arithmetic can seem daunting. I can barely read my own handwriting!! Where do I start?! What resources should I be using? Is there a method to this all?
And of course, throw in the normal everyday happenings like laundry and house keeping, potty training and outdoor fun. Any time to plan or look for lessons and art projects are gone out the window.
So having an Art degree and acknowledging a gift of teaching and creativity from God- the Ultimate teacher and Creator!- I just started making stuff up as the day would occur. And you know what?! A lot of those lessons and ideas became wonderful moments of learning for my kids!
And it is such a joy to be a part of that learning experience with them!
So I am not a certified teacher or have impressive credentials, but I am their mother. I know them the best and also know how to help them excel and grow in learning!
And boy is it fun!
So here is my once unorganized binder of past lessons I made up or ideas in the making, and I am now organizing it all. I am putting it all on this blog to help me find those lessons more easily, and I sure hope it can be helpful to you as you are teaching your little ones~
