I am a mom who after seeking out Pre-K teaching resources, decided to instead make up my own stuff. Why? Because my 3 year old does not fit into a mold and I have come to see that only I know what will really keep her attention. So I have made this blog to keep a Journal of all the lessons, art pojects and resources I have created and used. And because writing them on scrap papers and kept loosely in a binder just did not work out so well....

Why do I make stuff up?

I really am not a non-conformist type. A lot of the lessons I review or curriculum I pick up, ...well, honestly...they bore me sometimes.  So I know that if they bore me, they will most definitely bore my kids!
My husband always jokes with me about how little I remember from school and college.  And I laugh too, because it is sad but true!  Unless I did an intensive report about the Indians, met and saw them, dressed like them, and learned their language...I won't remember a thing about them.
I find this is true for little kids too.
I need color, taste and smells to teach me.  So do my little guys.
Now I have not done extensive research on Pre-K or Kindergarten curriculum and lessons.  So I am sure there are super books out there!
So along with working off some books, I mostly use the few things that are around our house to create lessons.
And I love it when my 3 year old looks up at me in the middle of a lesson and says, "Mom, this is the best ever!  Can I do more school after this?".
